Every now and then, I have the honor of working with someone truly special, and Zena from Dots on Rocks is one of those people. I’ve had the privilege of capturing so many unique stories, but this Illuminate Me personal branding session with Zena stands out as something truly extraordinary.
Zena is not only an incredibly talented mandala artist but also one of the kindest souls I’ve ever met. She draws so much inspiration from the natural beauty of New Zealand, and it was important to reflect that in her session. We chose the stunning Okitu Beach here in Gisborne with its serene landscape as the perfect backdrop for this shoot. It felt like the ideal place to capture Zena’s personal growth, her radiant beauty, and, of course, her stunning artwork.
Zena’s mandalas are works of art inspired by the intricate patterns found in nature, and they really came to life against the coastal backdrop. I was so happy that she trusted me to bring her vision to life and showcase not only her artistry but the journey she’s been on. The results were just as we had hoped—beautiful, powerful, and full of the light that Zena embodies.
